SCAG: The little known agency behind city planning

Special guest: Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG)

Did you ever want to know what drives cities like Los Angeles to make up zoning that allows more development? Did you wonder if they just dream this stuff up?

Our June town hall meeting includes a special presentation from SCAG (South California Association of Governments), which uses federal census data to make projections on population and mobility trends for all the cities of Southern California.

Hear SCAG present an overview of this little known government entity, discuss the 2012 Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS), a newly required element of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), and discuss the next steps associated with the 2016 planning development process.

All are welcome! Bring yourself, your neighbors, your input, and join us at Barlow Hospital, located at 2000 Stadium Way, in Williams Hall.
